I'm Startled!

WOW!

Wasn't the election exciting today!

Obama won by a LANDSLIDE. I had no idea he was going to win even before California's polls were closed. Wow

But i was disappointed at the announcement.

I thought it was gonna be all dramatic and majestic
like

Our new President of the United States.....the first Black President.....BARACK OBAMA!

Anyways.

I feel bad for McCain.
Hes such a great American and leader.

PROP 8 PASSED!

I had no ideaaaaaaaaaaaaa until I read someone's away message =]
Wow I still can't believe it.
I never thought liberal ass California would pass such a measure.

I guess its all the immigrant Hispanics, conservative Asians and Blacks.
Whoo so we do have some morality in our state and nation.

Well

I'm glad the election is over.
I feel the tension gone from my back and balls!
GONE!

God bless America.

morality?

where's the moral in eliminating people's rights, just because they choose to love in a different way?

where's the moral in discriminating people?

where's the moral in preaching the bible's instructions on marriage, but going against the bible by doing harm on God's other children?

i have to disagree. since prop 8 passed it shows that there is NO morality in this state.

your argument is convincing but I still have to disagree on a few things:

incest and homosexuality are two completely different topics and you inferring that if gay marriage was legal then it'd just be a matter of time before marrying a sibling would be legal? i'd have to say no, incest wouldn't be so easily tolerated, because homosexuality is widespread, but incest is nowhere near the majority. but if it's how one wants to love then they have all the freedom to do so, but marriage for them seems futile because most people in California aren't ready for such an extreme.

I never mentioned that marriage is a constitutional right because it has little to do with our government. I meant it's our right as a human to marry to whoever we love because its like what Jefferson said : "unalienable rights...and the pursuit of happiness."

I know the "founding fathers" weren't perfect, (I mean most of them were for slavery and slaughtering all the native americans.) And our documents aren't perfect (which is why we have the amendment system) but I'm saying marriage is one of our rights as a human.

Christians' call and duty should be to protect the sanctity of marriage? even if it means discriminating others?
like it was a Christians' call and duty to slaughter millions of jews during the holocaust? like it was the Christians' call and duty to torture millions and burn millions more during the Inquisition?

Christians owe to be more tolerant of how society is changing, they do have centuries of blood on their hands.

and also I know Registered Domestic Partners are the equivalent and its good that our government passed that bill, but these so called die-hard Christians tried to take RDP's away from homosexuals too.

and marriage isn't only a title to some people. it's a beautiful ceremony where two people can commit to each other for the rest of their lives. it's the principle of taking away something that shouldn't be taken away which is what pisses me off.

comparing beastiality to homosexuality is insulting to gay people. are you saying its the equivalent? that homosexuality is perverse? and they just want marriage to suit their twisted agenda?

I do totally agree with you that we have to retain moral and values but what about retaining the value being tolerant of other lifestyles?

America has a dark history of discriminating millions and we, setting aside religion, but as people owe to our society and for generation to come to make America a little more tolerant to more various lifestyles and not be discriminative.

And thank you for your perspective, I really do appreciate a response other than "Fags go home. not cool because thats nasty." and I will take what you said to me because I think you made some critical and valid points. as to prop 8. whats done is done

i hope i wasn't annoying you or came off stubborn. :(
